Elaine and fellow Artist Jane Ronie created a vibrant and playful working studio environment in the Bon Accord Shopping Centre in Aberdeen as part of a residency in collaboration with Aberdeen International Youth Festival in 2017.  During their residency they developed new work, gave practical demonstrations and delivered workshop sessions to groups of pre school and primary children and developed family drop in sessions over the course of the Festival.

During Inspiration Point ,  a two month residency where Elaine explored the concept of scale within her work, she created a number of playful 'giant' textile characters. Incorporating the characters into a tactile, interactive installation which consisted of hundreds of brightly coloured, hand made pom poms, she also hosted a number of workshops for college students and developed family friendly drop in workshops within the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen and worked alongside London Based designer Donna Wilson during a Personality Mask Making Masterclass.
